This Saturday at a fundraising event (not for my campaign), I have been asked to speak.
It will be my first speech in front of my own constituents, so I will make it my own stump speech.
I've been working on it all weekend, so here's the rough draft....
Greetings, my name is Jeff Seemann and I'd like to welcome you here tonight. As many of you already know, I have decided to run for Congress. Next November, I will be on the ballot in the 16th District of Ohio, running against Ralph Regula.
I was born, raised, and have lived my entire life in Stark County. My wife Susan, and my daughter Charlotte are very proud of our community, but we know that we can do better.
My opponents party has been in charge of this country and its' legislature for too long. Under their leadership, this district (and every other district) has seen jobs leave, schools go into decay from negligence, health care costs skyrocket, and crime rates increase.
As a community activist, I helped organize numerous events that brought pride back to our neighborhoods, and I believe that our leaders need to show that same initiative to all citizens of Stark County, all citizens of Ohio, and all citizens of the United States of America.
I ask you now to stand up for yourself, stand up for your family, stand up for your community, and stand up for your country by taking the power BACK. I promise that I will stand by your side as we return our sense of pride to Ohio.
Tonight, I ask you for your support. My name is Jeff Seemann, and together we can take the power back!
I'll add more to it...this is just a rough draft.
