Council Members Support Dean for President (Washington, DC)

WASHINGTON -- Vermont Governor Howard Dean's presidential campaign is expected to pick up endorsements Tuesday from the majority of the Democrats on the D.C. Council.

Jack Evans, Adrian Fenty and Jim Graham are definitely on-board. Evans expects Sharon Ambrose, and Kathy Patterson to join them Tuesday morning at the Phoenix Park Hotel to make their formal endorsement.

Evans says the Dean campaign is the only one to reach out to the Council. Both Evans and Fenty tell The Associated Press one thing they like about Dean is his support for full congressional voting rights for D.C.

Graham says he likes Dean's contrast with Bush.

Dean was also an early supporter of the District's effort to move its up its primary to be first in the nation.
