HOWARD DEAN is impressing Americans all across the spectrum.
I haven't been excited about any of our candidates of late as I have been by Dean. This writer was for years a syndicated columnist for Orlando Sentinel and is now retired. Dean even impresses him.
This is something. Oh warning to KERRY fans, this could make you weep.

1. Interesting article

but unfortunately this guy's opinion is as valuable to me as my Uncle's. It seems to be sound, but in the end, it is just an opinion. I happen to agree with it, but that doesn't make it anymore valid than the person who doesn't find Kucinich untelegenic or Kerry handsome and endearing.

There was an article in the Nation yesterday that isn't online ..by Jonathon Schell and he mentions most of the governments, tens of millions of demonstrators, UN Security Council, Dennis Kucinich, Howard Dean, and "the Nation" were the ones who were most vocally before the fact saying "we shouldn't go to war in Iraq"!

"They variously pointed out that Iraqi regime gave no support to Al qaeda and predicted the US would not be able to establish democracy in Iraq by force."

2. ALL resolutions authorizing force are coercive tools.

They are USED to threaten force to get compliance. EVERY ONE of them.

Kerry said Powell told their committee that the war was not a done deal, and that they would use the authorization of force to threaten Saddam. That's how it works.

Powell will be held accountable along with Bush. Let investigations play out. Support Henry Waxman's push for an investigation into the White House's lead up to war. Waxman voted for the resolution, too.

I think this Charlie Reese guy is a winger (latent memory from 5/6 months ago. Someone posted a thread about "If this guy is against Chimp, then we're making progress") So you shouldn't be too concerned with his opinion. As neither LumX, or I, are. From the "For What It's Worth" Department.

7. This is important

If what you say is accurate then Bush is in real trouble and Dean is the answer, as Dean can reach out to the millions of voters who went to Bush, e.g. West Virginia, soley due to the firearm issue. I think when Reese says the following about Bush it signals Big Opportunity for us.

he's more of a Libertarian - and he's been bashing Bush from the word go. He's been especially eloquent in his opposition to the Iraq adventure.
