1. I am seriously considering a "no-prejudice endorsement" of Crystle
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 05:48 PM by goobergunch
Along the lines of "I endorse Crystle without prejudice to Hoeffel".

I still think Hoeffel is much more electable. But I love pretty much everything Crystle does.

Of course, my parents have never heard of him...

2. That's how it should be
First, I don't live in Pennsylvania so I can't vote for either of them. But there is no reason for anyone to get on board with one candidate and yet still get warm and fuzzy about another one.

I'm just a little peeve because I am hearing of some of the negative crap that Hoeffel might try. It amuses me when his campaign calls him a "Washed up Dot.Com Exec" (ironically Crystle never owned a dot.com company - he developed software). And as for political experience, I think working for Non-Profit the way that Crystle has helps in that area.

I think it's going to be a fun campaign and I urge any DUer in PA to get involved with this campaign. Crystle has the stuff that DUers say they want in their candidate. Charlie is an independant thinker who isn't controlled by the Corporations or questionable groups like the DLC (Joe is a DLCer). He's a grassrooter, but he's got a good base to actually be very competitive and even win in PA.

I personally think a PA primary is a positive thing. Both candidates carry very little name recognition across the state. A positive primary will build their name recognition and make whoever the eventual winner is a stronger candidate. This race will only get costly if there is too much negativity.

3. The first thing Crystle needs to do is to get his name out
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 05:59 PM by goobergunch
I cannot recall seeing a single story in the Inquirer about Crystle. If it weren't for the Internet, I wouldn't even know he existed.

And I'm making it official: I, Goobergunch, hereby endorse Charlie Crystle for the Democratic Nomination in the Class III Pennsylvania Senate Election without prejudice to Joe Hoeffel.

4. I don't understand. 'Splain,
w/o prejudice??? Does that mean you endorse Crystle but would (if you could) endorse Hoeffel?

5. It means I like both of them.

But there's no real way to endorse both, and I like Crystle better. Kind of like in the Presidential race where I support Dean w/o prejudice to Kucinich.

8. Well you can still help out
Do you still have friends and family left in Pennsylvania? Then let them know about Charlie Crystle! Send them to his website and get them interested in the campaign.

I can't vote for him either. I live in Delaware. But I have my family getting interested in him. We can all help in some small way!

Thanks for the words of encouragement!!!

9. Trust me...
what little family is left there...we don't talk politics...hard enough to keep the connection going...that might be the clincher...but if I can think of any friends still there who would be open...I'll "suggest" Charlie is the man....

Peace
DR
