Carter Sees Some of Himself in Dean
WASHINGTON - Jimmy Carter says he sees a little of himself in insurgent Democratic White House candidate Howard Dean (news - web sites).

In an appearance taped to air Friday night on CNN's "Larry King Live," Carter says former Vermont Gov. Dean visited his home in Georgia last year to ask the former president about his campaign 28 years ago.

Like Dean, Carter entered the presidential race as an ex-governor considered a long shot for the nomination. Carter said Dean asked him and his wife what they did to get a victory in New Hampshire, among other things.

1. For those of you saying Dean is un-electable...
...much of the same was said about Clinton.

If politics were a sure thing, ther wouldn't be a two-party system.

Anything can and will happen.

Five minutes is a lifetime.

3. I really don't understand folks who say Dean is unelectable
Sure, maybe he won't win (I personally think he will), but "unelectable"? Anyway, I'm trying to avoid those folks since you can't argue with'em. Heads harder than rocks...sheesh. :)

5. Watch the Q3 Fundraising
Dean may set a new record for any Democrat, ever, at this point in the election cycle. And that's with a crowded 10-person field. That also includes a sitting president (Bill Clinton) who was certainly no fundraising slouch.

14. That would be pretty exciting!
I just sold a Tivo so I guess I could funnel some of the proceeds Howard's direction. :)

4. Dean has the "Fire in his Belly"! ..
I was wearing my Dean Pin today(like always) and a Russian guy who brings us some of our honey at the Co-op saw it and started talking about him positively..in this thick Russian accent! I was getting really happy knowing this Russian Bee Keeper had decided to vote for Dean!

There was a caller on C-span this morning from Mass and she was for Dean, too! Dean, Dean, Dean, Dean! :D

6. I wonder if Carter would be willing to get involved in the mideast peace
process again if Dean became president. I wish somebody would ask him.

10. Carter Sent More Dean Love Earlier
Carter said Dean was exactly right when it came to securing Israeli-Palestian peace. So that's two big wet kisses within a week.

11. I see a strong connection between the two men...
Strong-willed, highly intelligent, extremely principled managers. They are both scientists (a nuclear physicist and a doctor), and serious, first rate politicians. Dean would make an excellent president, though he isn't my first choice.
