N.Y. Poll: Giuliani Favored for Senate

ALBANY, N.Y. - Nearly two-thirds of New Yorkers want former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani back in public office, according to a statewide poll released Monday.

Hypothetical matchups found the Republican beating both of the state's Democratic senators, Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites) and Charles Schumer, if the elections were held today.

In a hypothetical matchup for the U.S. Senate against Clinton in 2006, the poll found 57 percent favoring Giuliani over 40 percent for the incumbent Democrat. Giuliani would beat Schumer 51 percent to 45 percent if the 2004 election were held today, according to the poll.

10. Clinton's economy helped NYC more than Rudy

and Clinton's legislation to put more police on the street
increased funding for Mass Transportation
David Gunn? who revitalized NYC's transportation system
Cultural things that had nothing to do with Rudy kept the city cleaner
Emphasis on recycling
Fewer smokers, Fewer newspapers, Bottle and Can return laws kept the streets a little cleaner

Plus, will he ever have to answer why there were no attempts at helicopter rescues on 9/11? Nine people were rescued by helicopter in the earlier 1993 bombing when Dinkins was mayor. There was a turf war between the fire dept and police helicopters and the fire dept won.
So the doors on the 107th floord were welded shut. Everyone knows smoke inhalation kills more people usually. If I couldn't have gone down the stairs I would have gone to the roof for fresher air. One of the towers looked like it could have been attempted for awhile before the smoke got too thick.

Rudy took over December 1993 so he had to review the safety of that year's earlier attacks. I'd like to see those reports especially on discussions of the construction of the stairwells.

He was starting to when he had his race against Hillary and it would happen again if he tries.

he won't challenge him. Also Schumer has a huge war chest and is generally well liked in the state. I think he will run for Governor rather than Senate in 2006.

People seemed to forget that before 9/11, Giuliani was the most divisive mayor we had. Then 9/11 turned him into a god for simply doing his frickin job. This is the same guy who wanted to postpone elections after 9/11 so he could stay in office a bit longer. He took 9/11 and used it to his advantage.

Please some other state take him and spare us this megalomaniac.

6. Who Am I ?????

I fired the police chief who actually cleaned the place up because he took some credit for it instead of giving it to me.

I tried to kick my wife and children out of the mayors mansion and move my girlfriend in, but the Court kicked me out instead, so I moved in with a gay couple in mid-town

I tried to userp the constitution and remain in office after my term ran out.

7. Came across an interview with him , out of the country... in which

he said he wanted get back into public office...which, to me, instantly
said "Senate."
