Edwards first, Clark second in SC--internal polling

According to Edwards' internal polls, he has a 10 point lead (23) over Clark (12). Sharpton has 8, Dean 7, and then everyone else.

Awesome! We hear all the time at DU about Iowa and NH, but it's good to see that Edwards is chugging along well and has such a wide lead in SC. Obviously, many are still undecided, I hope he maintains it.

1. The poll was conducted by the Edwards campaign internally.

Although I have no doubt that Edwards is indeed leading in SC (good for him), these internal polls are used to help fundraising efforts.

I know that all candidates do them, and as you say, are used for fundraising...but I don't know anything about them besides that.
I made sure to put that this was internal, so no one got any funny idears, LOL...

5. The SC Dem's internal polling is showing decent

Edwards numbers.

The top of the ticket is a major concern for Dems in SC who are running for office. Certain candidates bring their poll numbers down. Not Edwards, Clark or Kerry, though, they improve the numbers.

7. this is critical for Edwards

because it is over for him if he doesn't win SC (like Iowa for Gep)so it is good news. Good news for Dean is that since the last poll he has nearly doubled his support.

Clark will be the one to watch though in SC to see where he goes in the state.

Are there two or three candidates on the air in SC? Dean and Edwards are there, and Kerry did his announcement there -- is he on the air?
Pretty good lead for Edwards in one of the critical first states.

Clarks,gestures during the debate, gave me the thoughts, that Clark approves very much of Edwards. Watching his smile when Edward's spoke made me think he was much in approval of Edwards.

Edwards, or any of the other 8, sure as hell don't need Clark's assumed approval to impress voters.

Thankfully, I won't be looking for Clark's approval when I cast my vote, either.

I've been concerned about Edwards not running to retain his seat in the senate. If he doesn't get the nomination, I'm interested in seeing him on the ticket for VP.

But it would be a very good one. I keep picturing Clark as Kerry's running mate, but in reality Edwards-Clark would be very electible.

12. Good to hear about Edwards

I know it's where he was born and all, but it's still good to see his campaign efforts are paying off. I think his message is a strong one and one that will help the Dems defeat Bush. As for Clark and Edwards getting along (which just seems like the gossip about Clark and Dean being reported by the NYTimes) why wouldn't they? They're both high-acheiving southerners who hail from pretty humble origins.

When Tsongas whipped Clinton in NH he did very poorly in SC. Dean better not ignore this.
