Candidate bumper stickers in NH
I drive into a very busy part of NH almost every day to go to and from work. There is a lot of traffic on my route. Today, for the first time in NH, I saw a Dennis Kucinich bumper sticker. I saw 8-10 Howard Dean bumper stickers today. I have not ever seen a bumper sticker for any other candidte, including Kerry, Gephardt, Edwards and Clark. The most obvious "bumper sticker" presence is clearly Howard Dean in this area. I'm curious about what people are seeing in their areas. Anyone else watching for bumper stickers?

2. Oops, forgot about Bush!
Wouldn't we all like to though? I did see one Bush bumper sticker not too long ago. I've only seen one for Bush too.

10. Don't worry...
Democrats always win in DC and in the metro area. I see the Bush bumper stickers too but I also see lots of the old Gore/Lieberman as well.

So far I've only noticed Dean's bumper stickers around the DC metro area for the 2004 election.

38. It's probably people from my school with out of state license plates
I have never seen a Bush bumper sticker on a car with a DC license plate. I have seen several Dean stickers, and one Draft Clark sticker, and I think 2 Bush-Cheney stickers, both on out of state cars.

16. REALLY?
What part of DC are you in? This city went 81% for Gore...I think I have seen 6 Dean bumper stickers, one draft Clark sticker, a bunch of Gore/Lieberman stickers left over from 2000, and I think 2 Bush stickers, one of which was on a car from out of state.

Goal: $500
Achieved: $410

3. not showing up yet in CA
altho my son does have a Dean one on his car.

I remember in '60, during the Fam vacation 2 CA, my Mom kept a running tally of bumper stickers. When we returned home, Indiana, she pronounced no clear winner - 2 more Kennedys than Nixon. (She is still a 'no-reason 4 it' rethuglican.)

4. "I see Dean people"
(which is a cool Dean t-shirt, by the way -- http://project2501.com/dean_people/)

I have seen a handful of Dean bumperstickers around here, as well as some Kucinich (DK is big here). Haven't seen any others. I of course have a nice Dean sticker on my car.

I spent the week with one of my clients, an ex-Repub turned complete Deanie. He lives in LA, and just ordered a sticker for his (get this) Rolls Royce. Now that will be cool.

5. The Kerry bumper stickers...
....can be found on the cars trailing the Dean bumper stickers.

In some states, they're 2 or 3 cars behind.

9. DALLAS TEXAS-- FOR DEAN
Howard Dean! I saw one on the Tollway today! :) A professor at my med school has one on his car, too. I see it on the parking lot all the time.

I have seen two Draft Clark bumperstickers in Collin County (North Texas), but by far it's been Dean.

One day I came around the corner to enter the alley behind my house and the neighbors behind me had a DEAN sticker on their car. They travel a lot and I haven't seen them home lately, but when I do, I'll go right over and have a little talk with them. :) I think when it comes time next October, maybe we can hang a huge banner for Dean on our fences that connect! :)

15. There are a bunch of Dean supporters in my neighborhood
There are three on my street alone and one on the next street over. They have bumper stickers on all their cars and the people on the next street have a big Dean for America placard in their window. Our town is quite small. I see no other signs or stickers right in town other than for Howard Dean.

17. I Don't Think Clark Even HAS Bumper Stickers Yet
I've been waiting for them for quite a while. It's a bummer, it's lost time.

This simple fact further discredits the "it was all orchestrated" meme, IMO. A General knows the importance of logistics, and if he'd planned to run ahead of time, these would be non-issues.

Just recently, but they exist. Go to clark04.com and you can buy them, at fairly cheap prices in bulk. (I bought ten and am handing them out.)

23. None to be seen in rural Upstate New York / Bumper Sticker Primary
Edited on Fri Oct-03-03 10:20 PM by Tim The Enchanter
Although I am leaning towards Dean, I'm waiting a while before I slap on a bumper sticker. There are some Bush/Cheney stickers floating around, but I have yet to see any for the ten hopefuls. Those who haven't seen the Bumper Sticker Primary, the link is below.

25. I've seen a handful of Dean bumper stickers in the last few weeks -
in each case posted next to their old Wellstone stickers - which is why I noticed them - plus one Kucinich sticker and one Bush/Cheney 2004. I've also seen a couple of Dean window signs in my own neighborhood in St Paul.

26. I see few bumperstickers
here in Minneapolis, and the most of the few that I do see are for Wellstone!

I've seen one Dean and one Bush/Cheney. I've seen a number of Kucinich bumper stickers, but that's because I attend Minnesota for Kucinich meetings occasionally.

On my own infrequently used car I have a Kucinich sticker, one that says "God Bless the Whole World, No Exceptions" and one that says, "Hate Driving in Traffic? You're Traffic."

Both Kucinich stickers. One is mine, one is the VP of the local dem club. Who, interestingly enough, is hosting Dean meetups.

31. Southeast TX
I do most of my driving in between Jefferson County (Democratic) and Orange County (conservative Democratic, but voted for Shrub last time) and have seen one "Draft Clark" and three "Bush/Cheney '04". Not a great sign, but in 2000 I saw about five times as many Bush/Cheney as Gore/Lieberman stickers, and * didn't rack up nearly that sort of margin. I think Republicans are just more likely to shove their support for Bush in your face than Democrats were their support for Gore.

Edited on Sat Oct-18-03 06:02 PM by WillyBrandt
Here in Southern Connecticut.

Which makes sense, since they're the only Dem candidates with broad grassroots activist support.

On edit:

I saw one Kuninich sticker the other day as well. So there you go.

34. A little off subject, but about Bush/Cheney bumper stickers.
Does anyone else get a sudden urge to rear end people with Bush/Cheney bumper stickers?

We saw a lady with one yesterday and so we held up our Kerry button in the window. She was too busy missing her exit and cutting people off to look. Oh well! Not like anyone dumb enough to put that sticker on their car could read the button.
