I don't think he's proposing anything Dems would disagree with in this book since foreign aid to impoverished countries is sort of a no-brainer. But it's important to say it since I think most of America doesn't realize how little we actually spend in this area relative to how much of an impact our aid actually has. Plus, as liberals we need to drive home the point on how foreign aid isn't just charity, but good for our security and the world's.
