Edwards swings up in SC
Looks like Edwards is doing better in SC and Lieberman is drop, drop, dropping. Clark has a nice lift also.

One note, these numbers are good, but not as good as the numbers Edwards campaign released last week. However, this is still positive news for the Edwards camp.

Undecided 42 (48)
Edwards 16 (10)
Clark 7 (0)
Lieberman 7 (14)
Dean 6 (5)
Gephardt 5 (8)
Kerry 5 (6)
Sharpton 5 (4)
Braun 4 (1)
Graham 2 (2)
Kucinich 1 (1)

from http://americanresearchgroup.com/sc/

Here are Edwards internal numbers from last week:
Edwards 23 (14)
Undecided 23 (26)
Clark 13 (*)
Lieberman 8 (17)
Sharpton 8 (8)
Dean 7 (4)
Gephardt 6 (14)
Braun 5 (4)
Graham 4 (6)
Kerry 3 (6)
Kucinich 1 (1)

1. Look at Graham's poor showing
goes to show you how important free publicity (e.g. Dean) is. So much for any "southern strategies".

3. Good News for Edwards
I'm also pleasently surprised by Howard Dean's showing. At 6% and in fourth place behind Edwards, Clark, and Lieberman--in fact only a point behind Clark and Lieberman. My feeling is that a Dean showing in third place would be good for him--and the way Lieberman is falling he might get it.

4. interesting
The undecided is still the largest chunk. That's where the action is going to be. All the candidates theoretically still have a chance. But Edwards is definitely leading. High stakes for him. A loss in this state would wipe him out, I think.

5. Edwards has to win here
I just wonder what will happen to Lieberman if he loses big here. By the time of the SC primary, he will have lost in both Iowa and NH. I think this will be the death nail. Then again, maybe he will dropout before all this happens.

Also, how well does Clark need to do in SC in order to keep his campaign going?
