5. This nonsense is part of the reason I can't stand Kerry

There is one thing Kerry and his supporters seem to frequently have in common. Both are more concerned about the damn image and status of the position of president than they are about actually doing the freaking job. With Kerry, it's all about how he looks to others, what others think of him, appearances and image. For God's Sake, it's sickening. This isn't a contest to see who looks the best in front of a boat or who can look cooler or intimidate anyone with some stupid macho, chest beating nonsense. It's not about pissing Oliver North off either, can we please get out of the 80's...that was 20 years ago. This is about tackling some huge challenges and really wanting to fix problems. A person can't do that if they are too busy worrying about wearing a helmet when they ride a motorcycle for fear someone might see them with helmet hair.

Your own hero Howie is the grandstander par excellence in this campaign. Mr. Loud. Yet he has no record of improving anything on a national level, let alone actually taking down any person of the radical Right.

Yes, it's easy to get all jealous and full of denial when someone else actually has a real track record- 20 years- in the Big Leagues, and has a few souvenir photos as a result. You can argue that Dean is the greatest person in political Triple A league history. But it's a double standard that you're arguing for.

Governing a state-any state- is not triple A league. That sort of attitude is probably partially to blame for how poorly Gore did in rural areas. Which states do you consider the pros? Is Arkansas pro or triple A? How about Georgia? Clinton and Carter were able to translate their experiences as governor into Presidential wins.

Dean has a great record of improving things on the state level. 11 years of balanced budgets, the lowest homicide rate in the nation, and cutting child abuse by 30%.

One could easily argue that Dean is pure style, with promises and rhetoric with his main tools. Kerry meanwhile, is probably the substance, not as exciting, but has way more credentials and deeds to his resume. I do not get where you have concluded that Kerry is all about image. Sure, there is SOME image, you have to win with an image. Dean's image is pretty clear: the angry portly man with the rolled up sleeves who will take back the country from Bush. What's so wrong about that? What's so wrong about his supporters talking about that? If you want to talk issues, then there's more than enough threads where you could partake in.
