1. There is some good news hidden in that poll

Fingerhut has 30 percent of the electorate, even with only 52 percent knowing who he is. However, I believe it will be a very difficult race. Unless Fingerhut can pull a Maria Cantwell (a one-term representative defeats an incumbent senator), Voinovich will win a second term.

It was one of the closest states in 2000. * beat the combined Gore/Nader total by less than 2%. It's very much in play, especially if we can maximize turnout in Cleveland.

Also DK despite the belief from some that he is a big ally of Nader, he may probably get along with Ralph and agrees with him on a lot of issues, BUT in 2000 Dennis Kucinich worked hard for Al Gore. I think youre right BB Ohio could go places. Imagine Dennis running for president and John Glenn campaigning for him. That would be awesome. 7. This is going to be a tough race

Hopefully Fingerhut can make it somewhat competetive. The rule in Ohio politics seems to be: If you want to win you have to lose once.

The OH Democratic Party is in very bad shape right now. It will be a miracle if Fingerhut can get more than 40% of the vote. I hope that he does so maybe he can use it as a credible showing for a future contest.

11. Springer Dropped Out to Consider Running For Gov. in 2006

Or so I hear. Hey, if Jessie Ventura can do it in Minnesota, and Arnold Schwarzenegger can run in California, then why not Jerry Springer in Ohio? I think he would find much more support for a gubernatorial run than for a senate race.

Hopefully, he plans to help rebuild the Democratic Party in Ohio as well. I've heard that he has given significant contributions to many of the Dems running for office right now. We can use all of the help that we can get.

Too bad Gov. Bob Taft can't run again. Springer would probably hand his ass to him.

well my grandmothers maiden name was Kovalcik and I dont mind ethnic names look at my candiate donkey lol. Voinoich I was told is Serbian American, but I read he was Catholic, I think hes Croatian like Kucinich, Serbs are Orthodox. Now I am a South Slavic American but Slovenian neither Crotian or Serbian. Eric Fingercut I have read is Jewish.
