Governor's Press Secretary To Join Dean Campaign

Matt Paul Will Take Unpaid Leave Of Absence

The press secretary for Gov. Tom Vilsack is taking a leave of absence from the governor's office to work for former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean's presidential campaign.

Matt Paul, a Cedar Rapids native, says he will serve as Dean's deputy campaign manager in Iowa beginning Oct 9.

Vilsack has a fantastic Iowa organization, and he's a rising star in the Democratic Party. It's wonderful he's sharing his press secretary.

to have someone helping run his Iowa campaign who really understands the state. I wonder if Vilsak will endorse anyone?
