I know that this has been a brutal couple of months. Last night, I saw just how foolish many of those who voted can be, and they will pay dearly for putting an ancient actor in Sacramento. But that is history now, and it is time to gather a breath, get up, dust ourselves off and stand tall.
This ambush to democracy will prove to be another nail in the coffin of the GOP. AS will not be able to anything with the CA legislature, and he will fall flat on his face. Everything in CA will be scrutinized by the media, and it is important that we ensure that the WH stays in the spotlight. There are several ways we can do this.
Mosty importantly, I urge everyone here to get in touch with their elected officials and demand answers about the CIA leak. Use e-mail, snailmail, faxes and phone calls; contrary to poular belief, these people DO listen to you, you need to be persistant, and savvy, but they do listen when the pressure comes on.
Second, if you have cable, every time a story on the 'election' comes on, if you change to an innocuous station, like the Cartoon Network, (what's the difference, heh), it registers at the Cable station and actually comes up on a server board at the station. Can you imagine what the reaction would be if 10,000 or 50,000 people suddenly change stations each time the CA fiasco is mentioned? I know, it doesn't seem like much, but it is something that will be noticed at the stations, I can guarantee that.
Remember the local population. Every time I get a chance, I remind people just how lousy a president we have. I take my time, and do not attack bush outright, it is important that people do not feel like they are making a decision under duress, they must convince themselves that voting bush out of office is the right thing to do.
I am in constant contact with my local news outlets. I've had 12 letters published in the local paper, (I am thinking about asking them for a job), and have been on the local call in radio station on several occasions. In each case, I have had my say, AND offered an alternative answer. By using these two sources, I have become somewhat of a "celebrity" in this small city of 23,000 in Northeastern Nebraska. Lot's of people don't agree with all I have to say, (I'd be terrified if they did), but I plant seeds; i.e., every time I hear someone putting down Hillary, I ask, "what did she do that ticks you off so much"? Then I give them plenty of time to answer, and listen closely, just in case there is a valid point they make, (haven't heard one yet); and surprise, they suddenly figure out, on their own, that their arguments have no merit.
So now....after this fiasco in CA; let's get up dust ourselves off, stand tall and get back to work.
Thanks for hearing me out.
