Yea for Edwards - NO on $87B
<http://www.boston.com/dailynews/287/region/Edwards_says_he_ll_vote_agains:.shtml>
"'I believe we have a responsibility to support our troops in Iraq. I believe we have a responsibility to help rebuilt Iraq. But our troops will not be safer and this mission will never be successful unless the president dramatically changes course." Edwards said . . . Bush needs a plan to rebuild Iraq, work more closely with allies and take steps to make sure the money is not exploited by Bush's political allies.
'It is clear to me President Bush is not going to change direction unless somebody stands up to him and say no,and for that reason, I plan to vote against' the president's plan."

Others:
Kerry: maybe yes, maybe no
Lieberman: yes
Dean: has no vote but would say yes if tax cut was rolled back.

1. Fits in whith Edwards metamessage --
strong on defense, but not on board with transferring money from the middle class to wealthy corporations like Bechtel and Haliburton.

Edited on Tue Oct-14-03 08:36 PM by JohnKleeb
Hes battling for my second choice. BTW he too has a great education plan. IWR bothers me like it does with Kerry but Edwards is great too. Hes well liked here and I like him too. Sorry if I sounded arrogant CMG, I truly like Edwards and feel he would make a good president, I should visit the website when I get the chance.
