250 Kerry volunteers flood NH-take that HoHo
Students Help Kerry Garner Support in N.H.
Candidate criticizes Bush administration, lauds Red Sox in stump speech

By JONATHAN P. ABEL
Crimson Staff Writer

Sixteen Harvard students joined more than 250 other volunteers in John Kerry’s campaign’s “Extreme Canvass” weekend, which hit New Hampshire Saturday to drum up support in advance of the Jan. 27 primary.
The weekend started for nine of the Harvard students at a Dover public school, where Kerry addressed an auditorium of 200 people. The crowd of supporters jumped to their feet and cheered as U.S. Representative Marty Meehan, D-Mass., introduced “John F. Kerry,” conjuring up the image of another Catholic senator from Massachusetts and war hero turned candidate.

2. Kerry Supporters
You think that 250 Kerry supporters makes a statement for Kerry? Think again, because Dean draws thousands.

4. They took the whole weekend off and canvassed.
They weren't just there for a free speech.

11. apparently you forgot about Dean's Texas Rangers
a few weekends ago 500 Dean supporters from Texas flew to Iowa & New Hampshire to spend the weekend canvassing for Dean.

12. That's what Dean's Texans did too
We canvassed Sat and Sun. I was in Cedar Rapids Iowa, and yes, I went to Dean's speech Saturday night. Not much canvassing to do at 10pm, so why not go to the rally?

Obviously, I took the whole weekend off as well.

What was the point of this thread?

Kerry got volunteers to canvass for the weekend. Good for him for doing what a campaign is supposed to be doing.

5. way to diss the peoples!
"OUR grassroots is bigger than YOUR grassroots neener neener neener!@#~"

dean peoples seem to ignore the fact that a majority of the kerry peoples aren't online all day, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. check out the hundreds of thousands of peoples with the iaff alone-- don't marginalize the non-tech-savvy peoples.

peoples peoples peoples.

6. Yes Pez, but you have to expect this
considering the subject line. It is an open invitation to exactly that kind of post.

And not a good idea to lump "dean peoples" together.

7. They were talking about canvassing a certain area.
250 canvassers is a good number.

9. I wonder if any of the constantly carping critics
of Dean bussing in people from Vermont to New Hampshire, which it should be noted was merely alledged not stated as a true fact, will now say this is somehow wrong too. BTW I have no problem with this Kerry's supporters have every right to do this and should be doing it. But time and again Dean was carped at for alledgedly doing the very same thing.

15. Give me a break. This was a canvass.
All the campaigns have done it. Dean was desperate he had to fly people in from as far away as Texas to canvas for him Iowa.

16. more truth from the Kerry camp
"Dean was desperate...he had to fly people in from Texas"

--yup, I'll buy that for a dollar. Is this the kind of "truth"
in advertising we should expect from a "Kerry Forbes" admin?

Wouldn't it seem more logical, in being so desperate, ahum,
that Dean would send people from Vermont to N.H instead of Texas?

Thank you for playing, please try again.
