Money raised by Bush
Ok was having lunch at your friendly fast food place
and here is the money raised by Bush... 50 million

Ok that is a lot of money, but... those of you who
are paying attention should realize... if they were on track for 200 m by the primary season, they are going to miss that ammount of money by quite a bit...

Expect Rove to revise the number again, from 170 to 100 m... good news, they are having problems raising money.

Oh and iirc Clinton had more in the bank for his reeletion at this
stage.

3. Good news!
Boy this makes me smile!

He's gone and ticked off a lot of the 'faithful' that trusted him pre-Iraq. Now he'll be pulling out all the stops to play to his base (anti-gay, anti-abortion, etc.) This ought to get interesting. :-)

4. Total of $84 million, $50 million this q
But you have to think that lots of the hardcores are getting maxed out, so there may be diminishing returns until the end of the primary. I think $100 million will be a given, but I can't imagine they'll hit much over $150 million during the primary.

And that's when Rove's decision to push back the primary date so far to exploit 9/11 will backfire.

5. hopefully, it'll put them in a pinch for money, until the fed dough is in
if they find themselves on the defensive a lot until the convention then they could blow their budget. the fed money isn't handed over until the convention is over.

6. This is fantasy land -
Let me get this right. Bush? is the one who is going to run out of money before the convention? Let's not misread this. If he dragged in 50M this quarter, he'll easily get as much next quarter (more fundraisers as the cycle starts up), which puts him pretty close to 150M raised by year-end and pretty easily puts him at his "target" (I suspect the lowered it so they could blow it away and make it newsworthy). And he doesn't have anyone he needs to spend it against. Every one of our candidates is running against eight other people and spending their money just to get in the running for the first few primaries.

How much has the leading Democrat raised in the same time? How much will be left even three months before our convention?

And why does federal money make any difference? $70M(or so) is chump change for him.

Luckily, people dont' vote based on who got the most money. But this whole thread is a fantasy.
