Elizabeth Edwards To Launch Book Drive

(10/15/03) U.S. Sen. John Edwards' wife, Elizabeth, will kick off a statewide book drive in Iowa next week.

The Edwards presidential campaign is seeking to collect 2,004 books to give to after-school programs and other educational endeavors in Iowa. Books will be collected at campaign events and the campaign's 14 field offices.

Elizabeth Edwards plans to kick off the effort Monday in Des Moines. She has several other Iowa stops planned after that.

Elizabeth and John have been very involved in after school programs. They set up at least one in Raleigh, named after their son Wade, who was killed in a car accident at age 16. They are truly caring, giving people.

I'm rewatching the Phoenix debate, and I have to say that Edwards is just great. He's smart and articulate and seems to have the right ideas. He may indeed now be my current fave at #2. He performed very well in this debate, at least in this early part.

Listening to Gep and Lieberman on the other hand is just painful. I just don't believe them.
