Where do our canidates stand on the political compass?

Check it out. I found an interesting site. It lists the spots of all the presidential canidates on the political compass.

I was surprised. All of the canidates except Kucinich and Sharpton are on the right side of the political spectrum. My spot on the political compass when I took the test is right next to Kucinich and Sharpton.

1. I thought that

Lieberman and Dean should have been plotted a hell of a lot closer to Bush, Edwards and Gephardt should have been plotted further to the left, and Moseley-Braun should have been plotted closer to the Libertarian side since I thought that she was the first to speak about civil liberties.

2. Why do people speak about these things like they're objective?

These are merely subjective representations of people's attitudes.

Incidentally, the best measure of the candidates liberalism I've seen is the list of the amount of time CNN gave the candidates in the last debate.

The less you talked, the more liberal you are.

7. This supports the case

that the terms of the debate have shifted so far to the Right in the US that anyone even close to the Center is called "Liberal." I was surprised at a few of the placings, particularly Graham, Edwards, and CMB. But since those are the candidates (or former, in Graham's case) that I know the least about, I have no opinion on their rating. What does not surprise me is that Kerry comes closest to the Center. Of the candidates with a chance to get the nomination, I see his record as better than the others on most issues.

9. A bit harsh IMHO

I know none of the Democratic candidates, except for Sharpton and Kucinich are THAT liberal, but to be right of center? That's too harsh IMHO. Take John Kerry for instance. He's fought corporate crime, military excess, gay hate crimes, etc., and that makes him a moderate right winger? That's not fair. Same goes to the rest of the candidates. I think they should be be shifted about 5 points to the left, then it'd be accurate.
