Clark attack on blog for Dean
On the gunowners for Dean blog, there was this lame attack on Clark.
"One last thing: Wes Clark stated that he would expand the assault weapons ban. "If you want assault weapons, join the military" he says. I think he's forgotten what the Second Amendment is all about. Phooey on him."

Clark is not my candidate but I am sure with him on this.

3. Who needs Republicans when you have Dean?
Dean just isn't what most of his supporters think he is. Like all these NRA people are really going to vote for him over Bush.

4. I dont care, I dont like this position
I hardly doubt that the NRA will vote Dean over Bush, now it may help but the gun issue is kind of cultural too I think.

2. Bah
So what if you've got an assault rifle?

A gun is a tool. Granted, a tool for maiming and killing, but a tool nonetheless.

Having a gun is a lot like having a nuke. You use it as a deterrent. Now if you end up using that detterent force without just cause, you are a terrorist. But if you use the force properly and with as much limitation as possible -- there should be no problem...

Now there are a lot of folks lounging aroung DU thinking if Bush gets a second term there could be another civil war...

What do you fight your wars with, buck-o?

5. I want anthrax
And VX nerve gas and maybe a little small pox for good measure. I want everything the military has because that's what the Second Amendment is all about.

8. I'm A Well-Regulated Militia Of One
Now give me my AK-47. It's for urban hunting. Bought in Vermont, shot in New York.

6. Well, he also said this:
"I support the Second Amendment. People like firearms, they feel secure with firearms, they should keep their firearms," said Clark, who has been shooting weapons since he was young...

7. stop the presses!
Supporters of Candidate A criticize Candidate B on their own webpage!

And Dean supports the assault weapons ban, so I don't know what's up with this.

9. As one who supports the right to bear arms
I think we can be reasonable. Come on, you don't need an assault weapon to bring down a deer, or an elk, for that matter. What's the point of using them for target practice? You waste a lot of ammo and ruin targets very quickly.

Both Clark and Dean have very rightly said that assault weapons should be banned. I have no problem with this.

I am not a member of the NRA, nor would I be. But I do know NRA members who will not vote for Bush. Don't think that everyone who has a gun or is a member of the NRA is going to vote one way or another. They are as individualistic as anyone else.

10. As a gun owner...
... I don't think anyone needs an assault rifle. I have what I need, and it's all legal. Like Clark said, if I wanted to use an assault rifle, I'd join the military!

11. How is that an attack?
I mean really. Clark did say it, I agree with him BTW, and all this person is saying is if you don't like Clark's position, and again it is acurately stated, don't vote for the man. How is that an attack? Am I attacking Bush by saying if you don't want tax cuts for the rich vote for someone else?

14. 2nd Ammendment
The 2nd ammendment was not put in place to protect hunting rights or the right of defense against criminals. The 2nd ammendment exists to protect us from the government. In case of a despotic government, assault weapons are exactly the type of weapons you need. For those of you who've called John Ashcroft fascist and a threat to individual freedoms, consider the logical conclusion of those policies and then ask yourselves, "Do we really need the right to have assault weapons?"

15. Attacks on Dean blog are by Deaners - dirty pool
They're playing the Deaners are the poor victims rap. They've been doing this on other candidates blogs as well. Attack, and then crosspost on the blogforamerikkka using a fake name. They're hoping to garner some press to attack Dean's opponents this way.

16. Please explain how that was an attack?
He accurately stated Clark's position. He simply stated if you don't like his (Clark's) position then don't vote for him. If I say don't vote for Bush if you don't want tax cuts for the rich is that an attack?
