Clark and Lieberman will skip Iowa caucuses (WP)
Dem presidential candidates Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman and Gen. Wesley K. Clark hadve decided not to campaign in the initial caucus state of Iowa, gambling on winning the nomination with a later surge in the primary race...Spokesman Matt Bennet said Clark's month-old campaign cannot compete with Dean's highly organized Iowa field operation or Gephardt's 15-year history of building relationships in the state...
Lieberman will open four new offices in New Hampshire that will be staffed in part by redeployed Iowa field operatives, aides said. He also plans to add staff in South Carolina, Arizona, and Oklahoma...

4. 2 Tru
Yes, Sharpton comes before Lieberman on my list as well. I will also say if something happens and Lieberman gets it I'd have to vote for Lieberman cuz....

The focus is triming the shrub to 4 years.

2. Clark Has the Problem of High Expectations
because he leads in the national polls. It exposes the weakness of not having been able to build a campaign organization on the ground. Not a criticism of Clark -- I think it's the right tactic here.

The question is: once the primaries in Clark's strong states are held, will a front-runner have been christened? And will people flock to the new front-runner rather than Clark?

3. I Agree...
@ First I was a little pissed cuz I wanted Clark to show his stuff. After thinking about it a while it is the right move. He hasn't had the ability to build orgaizaitons in IA so it makes sense to skip.
Secondly, your point about High Expectations is correct. My father said he was a Clark man until the coupla mistakes in the past few weeks. Everyone makes mistakes it is that his are so highlighted because he came in with such a BING-BANG-BOOM.
So...Great tactic on his part.

6. I'm disappointed with Clark
I thought he would be different, but it seems he's just another calculating politician.

I want to see my candidate fight in every state and go after every vote. Also what message is Clark sending to Iowa voters for the potential November elections.

Clark was a close second choice for me, no longer.
