One thing I like about Clark.

I was looking over at the Georgia poll results and noticed that Clark had STRONG support among men voters. Democrats for a long time have historically lost the male vote. Though they have GOOD support from the women population, if they could run a candidate that could garner male support, they'd be set.

Don't take this as me turning my back on Dean. BECAUSE reality is, I don't support a candidate based on whether they're electable or not. BUT I do thing this is a strong asset that should be exploited by the Clark camp.

4. Well I like Dean a lot more than Clark.

So maybe I didn't make myself clear. I AM not doubting Dean for Clark. Dean still appeals to me (if not more than ever).

2. There's two ways to look at that

This is the second poll that shows him with a significant gender gap. It could be that he's still too new to the race to get a good read on it, the earlier polls for Dean looked the same as these do for Clark with higher male support, Dean has settled into almost a 50-50 gender split in recent polls.

3. That's why the GOP is attacking Clark's integrity

by trying to spread the message that he wasn't a "real" soldier, but a bureaucratic politician. They're also going to try painting him as a political opportunist. This is all part of undercutting his appeal as a man of honor to male voters. It's the one avenue they have to work with against him since there are his detractors in the military and he did make the mistake of being supportive of the Bush administration early on.

Time will tell if it sticks. In general, I've found that people like to judge for themselves whether they believe a person is trustworthy or not. With more TV exposure, it's probably unlikely that unnamed generals or unspecified gripes will amount to much that could really hurt Clark's appeal w/disgruntled independent/conservative voters that feel Pres. Bush has betrayed their trust.
