Kerry Honors Paul Wellstone's Memory, Legacy
Honoring Paul Wellstone

October 25th marks the one-year anniversary of the plane crash that took the lives of Paul, Sheila, and Marcia Wellstone and campaign staff Will McLaughlin, Tom Lapic and Mary McEvoy.

At the campaign, we were looking for a fitting and appropriate way to honor the work of Paul and Sheila Wellstone online and settled on a petition to winning a fight that Paul Wellstone and John Kerry were both dedicated to.

Please sign our online petition to urge the United States Congress to finally pass mental health parity legislation.

2. wellstone quote
Shortly before his death, Senator Wellstone said: “Once and for all, we will no longer accept the stigma. We will no longer accept the discrimination. We want full mental health coverage for men, women and children in the United States of America. We can do better. We must act now!”

3. Just signed it
I urge everyone here to do the same, regardless of your candidate. There would truly be no better way to honor Senator Wellstone's legacy than to make progress on issues that meant so much to him.

5. What we need is to find out what really happened to Paul
The main suspects were running the investigation. I don't believe it was an accident. Even his sons were going to conduct their own investigation so I doubt they buy the accident nonsense. How many Democrats are we going to let them kill before we stand up and nail them for it?

7. It was an accident.
A tragic, horrible accident in which we lost a man who was an inspiration to us all. But until serious evidence bubbles up to the contrary, I don't think we can assume it was anything but an accident.

8. Wellstone-Kerry
Kerry cosponsored original versions of the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Bill to ban "soft money" (unlimited donations from corporations, unions, and individuals) and sham attack ads. He teamed up with Senator Paul Wellstone of Minnesota to present a Clean Money bill that would give candidates the option of financing their political campaigns with grant expenditures from a public campaign trust fund.

10.  A couple of the activists around her performed at a concert today
Natasha, the 12 year old everyone has been writing about, performed, among other things, "Imagine" and dedicated it to the memory of Paul Wellstone.
