what is your state's voting method?

here in nyc (well, where i vote anyway) we have the booth-- turn the metal switch for your party. i usually run my finger down the Democrat line and pull that lever, with all my strength, to the left. very symbolic ;-)

it's strange that there isn't a standard for voting. it would be simple, but yet it is not implemented. doesn't that strike anyone else as odd? why not take something that works and is reliable, and use it across the country?

My precinct uses regular ballots that you mark, and I guess they're scanned.

In little bigger places more up to date stuff is around. I would be happy to see the mark on the paper come back.It is easy, cheap, little slower, can keep a record. I am sure it is the news that wants to know the vote 2 min. after the lights go out. Lets go back to the old cheap way and just have yo wait a few hr. for the count.

13. For Federal, State and County elections...

... we use the infamous punchcard method. For municipal, school board, township, special questions (referenda), etc., we use paper ballots. Beginning with next March's primary, we will use the optical scanning method, as will all adjoining counties.
