5. Oh it was...
Not to worry bro, I wasn't even born until 1969-- on the second day of the Woodstock festival, to be exact!

My first real memories of anything remotely political was watching the CBS news as a kid with my dad-- probably not more than four years old-- and Walter Cronkite (sp?) talking about the war in Vietnam. However, I didn't remember anything about Watergate, although I did remember Carter winning in 1976.

I really remember, quite vividly, the Iranian revolution and the hostage crisis. It was right about that time (age 9-10) that I had my "political awakening". I started to pay attention to what was going on in the world, and forming an opinion about it.

I first got involved in political stuff by writing letters to my congressman and senators about the Contra war in Nicaragua, which was completely wrong. As I got older, I got into peace & justice issues, and protesting too (got arrested for trespassing at Honeywell's HQ in the 80s).

Ah well....just glad to have a presidential candidate worth voting for, for once! :D
