Sidran in race for Gregoire's job
Ex-city attorney becomes 3rd candidate for top state law post

By PHUONG CAT LE
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER

Former Seattle City Attorney Mark Sidran, who lost a race to become Seattle mayor by a few thousand votes two years ago, is running for state attorney general in 2004.

The Seattle Democrat best known for a series of city "civility laws" said he would run the state's largest public law firm with professionalism and not in a partisan or politicized way.

He is the third candidate to announce for the post, which opened when three-term Attorney General Christine Gregoire jumped into the race for governor.

Sidran joins Republican King County Councilman Rob McKenna, 40, and fellow Seattle Democrat Deborah Senn, 54, the former two-term insurance commissioner who ran unsuccessfully against Maria Cantwell for the U.S. Senate nomination in 2000.

:puke: Sidran is a joke! less of a democrat than Miller and Lieberman's worst qualities combined! Let's hope Senn's campaign gains some steam.
