Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean's CU address Tuesday resembled a how-to guide to destroying voter apathy in 30 minutes or less.
A crowd of 3,100 spectators listened to the former governor of Vermont from the east terrace, windows and roof of the University Memorial Center as he swept through every issue from Korean nuclear armament to affirmative action admissions policy and back again.
"We're going to have some fun at President Bush's expense here," Dean began, focusing his speech on contrasts between his ideals and Bush's policies. "But you can't beat somebody just by saying how bad they are; you gotta say what you would do instead..."
