Philly Mayor's Lead widening despite FBI Probe....
http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/local/7128803.htm

<snip>

WANT A WINNING campaign strategy in Philadelphia?

Have a disastrous summer, then get investigated by the FBI, preferably with as much publicity as possible.

Riding a wave of anger over the corruption probe aimed at city government, Mayor Street now holds a solid 13-point lead over Republican Sam Katz, the latest Daily News/Fox Philadelphia Keystone Poll shows.

The poll, taken last Wednesday through Sunday, shows Street leading Katz 49 to 36 percent, with 11 percent undecided.

The poll of likely voters suggests the Street campaign's message that the FBI probe is partisan persecution has taken hold.

1. Street is now in position to win
Katz is now behind. And unless Street gets indicted over the weekend he is going to win.

I predict probably a 53-47%, 52-48%, 51-49%, or 50-49% Street victory.

6. I concur.
Even if he gets indicted, I think he would have a good shot at winning.

2. Hmmm...wonder what we could do...
To convince somone at the FBI to start bugging some of our PRESIDENTIAL candidates' offices?

I guess that move would smack WAY too much of Watergate, though, wouldn't it?:eyes:

B-)

7. yeah, but
Street is one of the the worst democratic mayors I've come across. If I were still living in Philly (I left in May) I would probably not vote for anyone before I voted for him.
