******PUSH-POLLING IN MASSACHUSETTS!******

I just got push-polled! "CNR Research". They claimed to be polling for Dean (DON'T BELIEVE IT!) -- once the questions started, it was VERY VERY VERY clear it was Rove drones...

Beware, people! They are coming after us!

It would be in everyone's interest to clear this: does Dean's campaign employ a CNR research? (I am sure it's not them - I'm hoping to get proof of it)

1. opensecrets tells all..
I've heard this name (CNR) mentioned in the past.

I went over to opensecrets.org and couldn't find anything that begins with C that resembles CNR. Check it out yourself:

Dems gotta stick together against this slime.. Perhaps a reporter for a media outfit in NH could investigate this...

11. Wasn't CNR Jebbie's push pollster last year?
I do know he did it and a name was floating around.

2. I don't understand why it's not believable that Dean would do this when
Edited on Wed Oct-29-03 06:25 PM by blm
he did negative phonepolling in Iowa during the summer against Gephardt, Edwards and Kerry.

His campaign didn't deny it then, but, hardly anyone paid attention at that time.

5. Have done so repeatedly. Will do again since you never saw it.
Despite those spinners who claim it isn't pushpolling because the article doesn't specifically call it pushpolling. When a candidate reinforces a negative perception about an opponent while in the act of conducting a poll, it's pushpolling. Dean apologists' denials notwithstanding.

"First phone attack

Straight-talking Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean is testing his attack message in Iowa. Political operatives say Dean's phone polling is probing for weaknesses in support for Sens. John Edwards and John Kerry and Rep. Dick Gephardt. For rookie pol Edwards, it's about experience. For Gephardt, it's his alliance with Bush on key issues. Questions about Kerry test Iowans' reaction to his vote backing the war in Iraq."

7. Despite your spinning
I am saying it isn't push polling because it doesn't do what push polling does. If you are going to report what I said try doing so accurately. I know that is hard for you to do but given that it is in this thread it really shouldn't be that hard.

4. That is because
as has been pointed out something like a billon times, that article did NOT ACCUSE DEAN OF PUSH POLLING. The one and only time you provided the whole article I read the whole damn thing. I commented then, and every damn time you have put this up that the article didn't accuse him of push polling. Nor did it state that he asked more than a standard sample of people these poll questions. And push polling ALWAYS, AS IN NEVER DOES IT NOT, involves asking VERY LARGE SAMPLES the negative questions. So no the campaign didn't deny the article because the article TRUTHFULLY REPORTED THAT THEY WERE TRYING OUT TRUE NEGATIVE THEMES ABOUT OTHER CANDIDATES. Which isn't, despite your repeated attempts to call it that, push polling.

6. That's the Dean apologist version.
Earlier you honestly called it at the very least pushpolling light. Now you're just denying it straight out. How sad.

9. No and again either report what I say accurately
or don't do so at all. What I said was that depending on why the article was written as obliquely as it was, which we couldn't know I said it MIGHT be push polling light. Again either accurately report what I say or don't report what I say. I am getting tired of you putting words in my mouth.

8. Negative Phone Polling is not the same as push polling
