Do we really have a shot of winning in Oklahoma..after ten years of hell?

The last U.S. Senator from that state to be elected as a DINO was David Boran. But perhaps we have an opportunity to elect a real Democrat this time.

Brad Carson may not of endorsed shrub, but what will he do once Lieberman is beaten in the primaries? Thankfully Carson is not the candidate who I think will win this election. The candidate I have my eye on is an attorney, a teacher, and a preacher. You could say he's no Don Johnson! Could we ask for anything more in a candidate?

Who do you think we should run for this seat, and who would be the most electable in Oklahoma?

6. I don't know why you feel David Walters was tarnished...

he was one of the most popular Governors in that state. And as for his Senate race, he was running against a Republican incumbent in a Republican state in 2002...and lost 7% of the vote to the independent.

But in an open race not only would that 7% be up for grabs, but the 10% of independent Oklahoma voters who voted for Inholf would be fair game as well. And regardless of what this state's expectations are, I doubt they are looking for another Zell Miller.

as I recall, he lost handily in the 2002 election despite the fact that Inhofe is not a popular senator.

And I stand by my assertion that he is tarnished. By the end of the 2002 Senate campaign ALL we heard about were the charges against him while he was governor. That's why I said "right or wrong" because I personally believe it's wrong, but the fact remains, there's no way he can win.

I'd like to see Doug Dodd in that seat, but unfortunately Dodd can't seem to beat that bag of shit John Sullivan. Having said that, I wonder how Dodd would do in a state-wide election. Does anyone "in the know" have any thoughts on this? If I don't see any responses here, maybe I'll repost the question when I get home from work.

The guy has no money, no support, no base, nothing.
Carson is a blue-dog Democrat, no doubt about it, but in order to win here in the land of Inhofe and Nickles, that's the way it has to be.

Carson, I hope may swing a little more left if he has a six year term. Who knows?

Edmondson isn't running. Walters (loser) is running Dean's campaign here. He will not run either and I'm glad of it.

By the way, Carson has a lower rating from the American Conservative Union than Lincoln Chafee, who people tout here as a liberal Republican ( 44 for Carson-47 for Chafee - lower being more liberal ). By comparison, Nickles has a 96 rating and Inhofe a 98 rating.

Carson WILL be the Democratic nominee because he has the support of the tribes, the party and the big bucks.

Then you will have a race between a right wing nut whose campaign manager is Inhofe and Carson.
Which do you think we should support?

I don't have as much faith in the Blue Dogs as I once did. My Congressman was once their caucus Co-Chair...but now Nathan Deal is another tax wasting neo-con. Billy Tauzin was also a founding bluedog, and now he is the king of GOP pork!

I once called myself "moderate", until time taught me the hard lesson that moderate is just another word for run and hide when the going gets hard...
