I don't recall the exacts, but wasn't she involved in some sort of bogus scandal back in the early 90's?

1. She met with a Nigerian dictator and raised some money illegally
And, she was wrong the other night when she said "I've been winning elections ever sense." No, she won one term in teh Senate and got throttled in her reelection campaign. She is an oppurtunist. If she really wanted to do something she'd run for Senate again from Illionois. She just wants some cushy cabinet job.

3. Who cares?
She's a nice lady. I have serious doubts that she'll get the nomination and there is no reason to bring up stupid scandals.

4. i just wanted to know
Damn. Far be it from anyone to bring up anything in anyone's past. That's the kind of attitude that got W "elected."

5. There was no real "scandal" - she met with African dictators and
did not take illegal money as was alleged - but still those meetings were evil per the GOP

And she actually did break the law with regard to disclosure for her Mom's nursing home application. The rules state that the Mom's home should have been signed over or been made available or at least known as an asset to the Illinois folks processing her app so that the state could, if it wished, recover its cost from the sale of the home after the mothers death.

Usually Illinois does not chase small equity amounts buried in the value of a home of a nursing home person who has died. But they demand that they know about the asset so if they do not chase it, it was their decision.

Carol hid her Mom's home - the equity interest - from the State.

A no-no solved by refiling the nursing home application. Not a big deal - but it was wrong.

6. I don't know about that...
Were any of the incidents you mention the ones that the Justice Department didn't investigate?

There was one issue big enough for them to be called on about it, and they didn't look into it so that was that.

Can't remember what it is but if I can find it I'll post.
