as of midnight, Dean supporters raised $30G for Leonard Boswell

As you know Joe Trippi sent Dean supporters via e-mail a request that we help Iowa's lone Democrat in the US House--Rep. Leonard Boswell who the Rove machine has targeted for defeat. Well as of midnight we had already raised $30,000 for the Boswell campaign--with more to come. Rep. Boswell has also sent his thanks for our efforts:

Dean has said his goal is to help Democrats win back the house next year and this is just the beginning!!

That is amazing. I must admit, Dean is pulling some smart moves. As oppose to the other players, he has his eyes set on the big picture. He understands that we are not just taking on President Bush...we are taking on an entire machine.

Many bloggers were adding .44 to the amount to show that the $$ came from Dean supporters.

I can't believe all those Republicans who have secretly been financing Dean because Rove has told them to are keeping up the ruse by also now donating to Democratic congressmen to help them win elections. Do Rove's plot know no boundaries?!

Headline is DEAN TO HELP BOSWELL; NO STRINGS ATTACHED

It points out that Boswell has said he will remain neutral and that the idea for the campaign to help vulnerable democrats is the brainchild of Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California, one of Dean's earliest congressional supporters.

Lofgren said that she was looking for a way to combine Dean's desire to help Democrats take control of the House with his campaign's use of the internet.

This, imo, is why Dean's campaign will make a difference. I feel he will help us win back the house.
