Is there a veiled death threat against Dean in Sierra Times article?
Edited on Fri Dec-05-03 12:18 PM by dajabr
President Howard Dean
Carl F. Worden

--snip--

Unless Howard Dean screws up in some spectacular way, or unless Dean dies in another suspicious airplane accident, Howard Dean will be the next president of the United States. Mark my words.

--snip--

True Americans with solid constitutional convictions were outraged by that, and they immediately knew they had a problem in the White House. I don’t know what Howard Dean’s religious convictions, if any, hold to. But it doesn’t matter in this case. Here we have a pro-gun candidate who is against this disastrous war in Iraq, and he is a candidate intent on principle to uphold he personal convictions. I like him, and for the first time in my life, I will vote for a Democrat, Howard Dean, to be my next president next November.

If he’s still alive.

Carl F. Worden

I think I'd be less paranoid if this article did not seem to be written for, and to, Christian Fundamentalists. Creepy...

3. I didn't see it as a threat
I saw it as an admonishment that certain people seem to have a habit of dying at convenient times for the GOP.

8. So, I'm reading too much into this?
I'm trying to think like a freeper fundie* here (his apparent target audience), and how they would subliminaly react to that last line.

*not recommended for sane people.

5. I'm still laughing about his "personal convictions" line...hahaha
the guy has switched more positions than any of the other candidates PUT TOGETHER. His record of compromising centrist governance doesn't bear ANY resemblance to his current fighting populist rhetoric.

Guess REAL records mean nothing, but, "BLAH, BLAH, BLAH" gets rewarded.

6. Paul Simon, Bruce Babbitt reward inanity...
How many good people can be smeared now by attacking Dean in this way?

7. Not a threat, but a tired old Clinton paranoia reprise
I think the author is trying to connect Dean with Ron Brown and the wacky right contention that Brown was murdered. Shoot, they probably think the Clintons had Wellstone killed too. Anyway, I think he's hinting that the Clintons do not support Dean, and will thus have him killed. Man, these are some lunatic folks.....
