I have been working for Clark and here is what I think about Gore.
I wish he had endorsed Wes. Any candidate would have wanted this kind of of endorsement.
The endorsement makes sense on this level. Dean supporters are generally thought to be new to the political sphere and in many cases more loyal to Dean than to the party. They are energetic and passionate. We need that.
Gore can not only help bond these people to the party but can add his base among African-Americans to it and give the Democrats a big leg up on the long and hard road to the White House. We might also just avoid a floor fight at the convention.
I will keep working for Clark because he is a good candidate and I want him to be a player in this drama over the next year.
Whatever happens I will line up with the rest of you to kick Bush out of Gore's House. I hope you will line up too.
I have told many Republicans that I feel sorry for them. The Democrats are going to have all the fun in this election! We will show them how the game is played.

3. Hats off to you!
Thank you for a thoughtful post. I also pledge that if Clark wins the nomination, I'll work as hard for him as I am working for Dean.

4. I really like Dean, but
I have no problem supporting any one of them. Lieberman would be tough, but I'd make an exception.

5. Thanks for the big picture post bigendian!
My sentiments exactly. I'm committed to Kerry, but I cannot wait for the primaries to end so we can all come together and use our collective frustration to bear on those that truly deserve it. I'll gladly support whomever can grab the brass ring. If it's Dean I'll gladly support him with money and time.

7. Here is another way of looking at it.
When McArthur rolled up through North Korea at the head of the greatest army in the world he couldn't stand against the hordes coming across the Yalu River.
The Republicans will have us out-gunned so we must have them out-numbered and be ready to give our all.
