Kerry Supporters Check In
Where are all the Kerry supporters? We've been pretty quiet lately. Not quiet but we had more of a presence here in DU in the recent past. At least when I joined DU.

Let's make our presence known. Dean has the momentum now but things could change... Who knows? We haven't seen any primaries results yet.

Who's a Kerry supporter? Who is with me? :-)

I hope that a majority of our presence is done in a positive way.

7. Hey - tomorrow is his 60th birthday!
https://contribute.johnkerry.com/?team=25

"John's 60th Birthday is a milestone that you can help us make special with your contribution. Every dollar you contribute will go into our effort to remove George Bush from office and replace his Administration with a Kerry Administration that respects and protects our freedoms, our environment, our values, and our future."

9. HERE!
DU used to take up way too much of my time. I get sucked in and can't seem to leave, so now I avoid coming here as much as possible. Spending all my free time working for Kerry. I will only be working part-time January-March so I can help the campaign more. And I'll be volunteering in New Hampshire the week before the primary.

So, yeah, you could say I'm a Kerry supporter!

16. Go Kerry!
I realized how much time DU was sucking out of my life so I've been posting a lot less. I'm also kind of waiting for the new system and policy on deleted posts because I got sick of flamewars when I realized I was mostly arguing with teenagers.

Happy Birthday John!

17. I still believe Kerry is our best shot.
To both beat Bush in 2004 and lead the Democratic Party for the next 4 years. I have absolutely nothing against Dean, but I just don't think he's the best man we have for the job. Go Kerry!

19. Me Me Me
I think lots of Kerry folks are quiet here just like they dropped off dKos - the vitriol against our candidate just got to be too much.

I absolutely believe that John Kerry is the best man to be president in these times.

22. Still here
I think people are out hitting the streets and talking to people. I think our base of support is different which is the reason people aren't spending as much time online.

25. Alive and Well
I'm here for John Kerry, to the bitter end of this process. He may lose the nomination, but let there be no question who is the better man, but any human standard.

http://www.hpleft.com/112303.html

"It further strikes me that if one man or woman had been born to be President at this profoundly dangerous time for this country, of all the candidates on the stage today, John Kerry would be the obvious choice. He is the clear response to a pressing cosmic challenge – the completion of a Saturn cycle that began with Nixon's resignation and the fall of Saigon, and the commencement of a new cycle – and his strengths and skill set strike this astrologer as perfectly mirroring the demands of the historical moment. In my humble opinion, this is a time for experienced, patient, courageous, disciplined and steady leadership. It is also a time for bridge-building – both with regard to old friends from whom we have become estranged and new friends we have yet to embrace. It is not a time in which attitude, anger or populist fantasy offers anything useful with regard to the road ahead. In fact, it can be argued that it is exactly that kind of an approach, as advocated by the current Administration, that brought us to where we are today. We have a tremendous amount of work ahead of us. We can no longer afford to rest on the laurels of our past, or reward rhetoric that is not backed by hard-earned human currency. In closing, seen within the context of a culture that rewards celebrity and bravado rather than authentic achievement and true courage, it strikes me that George W. Bush is the embodiment of what of America has become – and that John F. Kerry is the embodiment of what we once were, and what we can be again."
