AP CEO admits "most media are owned by Republican conservatives"
Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 05:37 AM by Democat
While journalists are often accused of having a liberal bias, "most media are owned by Republican conservatives, so there is a healthy balance and tension" within the news operation, (Associated Press CEO) Curley said.

Where is the balance? Right wingers accuse any non-right wing reporters of having a bias but the fact is that right wingers own the media.

Would these crooks also say that slavery wasn't so bad, because while the slaves were black, most of the slave owners were white, making for a "healthy balance and tension"?

What bullshit.

it's safe to assume that the conservative bias trickles down from the top.

Now, let's name names until they become household words. Who owns what news channels?

2. It would take them two years to air all the corrections
News organizations also need to do a better job explaining what they do and make corrections when needed, Woodruff said. "I think you gain credibility when you tell people that you made a mistake," she said.

Judy, Judy, Judy. Guess that means you'll be correcting yourself over coverage of Al Gore in the 2000 Election?

3. What bullshit. I've got two words for them......
"Fairness Doctrine". We should DEMAND of our new Dem president, whomever that may be, to sign an Executive Order reinstituting the "Fairness Doctrine, right after he is sworn in. The next stap after that, would be to launch RICO investigations on all major media corporations, and force break-up of all media conglomorations.

WITHOUT A FREE MEDIA, THERE CAN BE BE NO DEMOCRACY!!!!!!!
