Brit Hume intentionally lies re SS and FDR - and Media says nothing?
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 02:30 PM by papau
Brit Hume should resign should be the screaming headline off the mainstream media print and air stories.

We know Brit Hume intentionally cobbled together quotes from 1935 letter by FDR in order to mislead viewers into thinking FDR wanted to privatize Social Security.

AND we know that the reality of the letter was FDR was talking about "IRAs", meaning an add-on in addition to Social Security voluntary private account funded by voluntary contributions.

How much longer will mainstream media allow the Fox's Brit Hume is stupid excuse - he does not know the difference between Bush's carve out of Soc Security payroll tax funded annuities and the FDR/Monyihan/Clinton addon in addition to the Social Security funded by voluntary contribution private acoounts?

Is it not time for the excuses to end?

The speech that Hume refers to as a letter is here:

3. They are all corporate run
Meaning of, by and for the corporation. Stop expecting any good from the MSM. What we see today started under Reagan and will require an active rebellion to change significantly.

4. Hume isn't a journalist. He is an actor paid to broadcast propaganda
that sounds like news. There isn't even an attempt to appear unbiased. Why anybody takes that act seriously is beyond me.

5. Dumber Than Dan Rather
I remember a point he once tried to make about the number of military casualties in Iraq compared to the number of auto fatalities in CA during the same time. Implying that killing little brown people in Iraq is safer than driving in CA.

Someone pointed out that we had only 130,000 troops in Iraq and 15 million drivers in CA. And Hume's response was, "...well...there's some truth to that statement."

Yeah Brent, the truth is that you're a moron.

Anyone else see this exchange?
