I wonder if only ABC in Boston - early morning - is this bad.

Well - as I am typying this they just re-did the tape on ABC TV Ch 5 (it is about 6:45) and have gone back to "I will not admit I smoked dope because I do not want kids to copy me", plus a comment about how they do not know if the tapes are legal since the minister has not proven they were made in States that allow taping without the permission of Bush.

1. The guy was careful

He has a TON of tapes, he only released a few. He recorded them in "one party" states (where only one party has to be aware of the recording). He has a book coming out on Presidential Childhoods, which could be a motivator for his timing. Get your name out there, get interviews on the tapes, collect those appearance fees, and plug the book while you're at it.

2. I agree - a minister who followed the rules - and likes money - but media

treatment is / goal seems to be to find ONLY positive campaign material for Bush that they will then air.

3. it won't help with his base; in a way, it's bad for him. the

conservatives are already pissed that he is going to ask for a ban and now they will be really pissed. why it's almost like he lied to them/

4. I can't help but think there

is more to the story about these tapes. I don't know. Just strikes me as odd that he was "secretely" taped. And I just don't believe he didn't admit to smoking pot cuz of the kiddies. Maybe I'm just use to not believing anything anymore.
