Poll question: Which President was more "gay" - per the media?
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 08:58 PM by papau
Chester Arthur -Chet Arthur? 21st President of the United States? The obscure fellow that was GOPer Garfield's VP and became Pres after Garfield’s assassination - the fellow that was "honorable" and started the Civil Service so as to end Government corruption - but who also had all his papers burned after his death.

Abe Lincoln who in C.A. Tripp's "The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln" (Free Press), is said to have had five intimate lovers and a psychological outlook shaped by his same-sex desires - down to a poem about the marriage of two men. And Tripp puts forth this tidbit, recorded by Washington socialite Virginia Woodbury Fox in her diary in November 1862: "Tish says, ‘there is a Bucktail soldier here devoted to the President, drives with him, and when Mrs. L. is not home, sleeps with him.' What stuff!"

James Buchanan, our 15th President, gay? http://www.stanford.edu/~lindholm/chinf_buc.html
James W. Loewen's book "Lies Across America: What Our Historic Sites Get Wrong (The New Press)" seems to think that the folks at the time referring to Buchanan’s long-time living companion, William Rufus King, as "Miss Nancy" (by Andrew Jackson), "Mrs. James Buchanan" by James K. Polk’s law partner, his "better half," "his wife" and "Aunt Fancy" may just be giving away the secret - the term used for them (Senator King and James) "Siamese twins" was the slang at the time for gays and lesbians. And when King was appointed envoy to France, in 1844, Buchanan lamented to a friend that "I have gone wooing to several gentlemen, but have not succeeded with any of them." But like Chet Arthur - James had his papers burnt upon his death - so as our media says of George W and "Mandate" - there is no "proof"! :-)

And our current likely (?) gay president - Mandate George W Bush and his buddy (or his friends buddy) Jeff Gannon/James Guckert -Guckert/Gannon who went to the White House nearly every day for nearly 2 years. Each time he went, he got specific permission from Scott McClellan's White House Press Office. And Guckert/Gannon went to Bush's White House Christmas Party. But perhaps all is explained by folks saying McClellan himself has been spotted at gay bars, and that Ken Mehlman is gay. But what of the widespread rumors that Bush had a long-term sexual relationship with his Ambassador to Poland, former Yale classmate and Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe

And of course George’s dad - George H W Bush - he of the midnight tours of the bowels of government by gay pimp Craig Spence, an important republican lobbyist who commited sucide, and Lawrence E. King Jr. who sang the National Anthem at two republican national conventions during the 1980s. The scandal made the front page of the Washington Times in 1989 (also Washington Times, Pg. A3 July 26, 1989 Headline: Secret Service furloughs third White House guard). Why was there a TV News Media blackout on the subject? A former republican Senator John Decamp was involved in the production a documentary called "Conspiracy of Silence" it was to air May 3, 1994 on the Discovery Channel. This documentary exposed a network of religious leaders and Washington politicians who flew children to Washington D.C. for sex orgies. At the last minute before airing, unknown congressmen threatened the TV Cable industry with restrictive legislation if this documentary was aired. Almost immediately, the rights to the documentary were purchased by unknown persons who had ordered all copies destroyed. A copy of this videotape was furnished anonymously to former Nebraska state senator and attorney John De Camp who made it available to retired F.B.I. chief, Ted L. Gunderson. While the video quality is not top grade, this tape is a blockbuster in what is revealed by the participants involved. You can even purchase a VHS copy!

2. Uncle Ronny raped Seleena Walters - a lady - don't think he was
all that gay!

But I agree chimp does seem happy and gay!

I was amazed that PBC Newshour tonight (in the essay) actually discussed the gay Lincoln, making note of the gayness of Buchanan and Arthur.
