Billboard Top Ten
For the first time in history, the Billboard Top Ten Singles are all by African-American artists. Not too surprising to me. But the fact that nine out of ten are rappers says something about the direction of American culture. They are all rappers of the mysoginistic, materialistic, self destructive flavor.

Note: I am a big hip-hop fan. Just hate the garbage put out by the record companies.

1. How is the Billboard Top Ten determined?
Is it based on sales? Of course, most people in the USA are not listening to rap. So, what does this mean?

2. Well, I wouldn't call Black-Eyed Peas "Where is the Love"...
..."mysoginistic, materialistic, self destructive" rap.

Far from it, it is the most positive-message song of any genre on the charts in ages. It is also a very strong anti-war (and implicitly anti-Bush) song.

As far as the others, yes, too much hip hop these days does cater to the lowest common denominator. That pretty much goes for any popular music, although the lifestyle and images pushed by many of these rappers does push the limits.
