and instead the only reason given as to why he was fired/quit ESPN is b/c of racist remarks made about Donavan McNabb.Noone is even mentioning his drug involvement as a possible reason for his termination-it boggles the mind.

whatever agency that was supposed to be investigating him was trying to keep it quiet--that is until the story broke.

I don't think that drugs had anything to do with him leaving ESPN. That was because of his racism.

why he was fired at ESPN...Tom Jackson threatened to walk off the program if Rush was back the next Sunday...and he'd likely have taken the other two ex-players with him. ESPN also depends on access to athletes, especially black athletes...lots of luck covering the NFL or any other sport if black athletes decide not to talk to you.

The drug story didn't pop up unntil AFTER Limbaugh got the boot...in fact, had the flabby coward not been perceived as vulnerable, the Enquirer would most likely have continued to sit on the story, as they had for the previous year or so,

.... Rush intentionally did the over-the-top racist comment because he knew the drug alligations were coming out and wanted to be able to confuse and have some control over the situation.

The drug problem is a much larger prolem with his core audience, where his bread and butter is made.

that Rush (realizing that his drug story was about to break), decided to preempt it by creating bigger news.

All he had to do was bash the Liberal media (with slight racial overtones), and he would create a fire storm big enough to bury the Drug story. This worked, but the drug story still came out.

8. hate to defend a tabloid I wouldn't read on a dare but...

no news organization has been sued more than the National Inquirer. I doubt their huge legal department would allow it. No, the story broke before law enforcement was ready to release it. I believe the police just shoved back into an "open" police file. Meanwhile, Rush's lawyers have sufficient time (and mega-billable hours) to KEEP it stuffed in that file or at least have the arrests confined to the maid's dealer-BF.

Rush wasn't fired, he resigned.

I thought that was particularly telling about his character. If he were really the outspoken, non-PC (etc., etc.) critic he pretends to be, he would have stayed on the job to fight for his position. I don't agree with his position, but at least that would have been the courageous position. If after that he had been fired, he'd have reason to claim he'd been censored. However, he is only comfortable presenting his rubbish to a crowd of mindless dildoheads, and can't face a real debate on an issue.

10. Here's another paranoid theory...

Rush may have made his offensive racial comments in order to detract focus from the White House scandals related to the Yellow Cake uranium and the leak of Valerie Plame's identity. What did he have to lose? He really didn't know anything about football. He wouldn't have been on ESPN for too long anyway. So he draws attention away from W, and becomes a hero to his AM Radio audience by repeating the rants of the angry white man against liberals, African Americans, and the liberal media.

This looks suspiciously like the Trent Lott racial comments, which only endeared Lott to his base of support.
