Seattle: Right-wing talk stations directly involved in voter initiatives

Seattle's top two conservative-talk stations have dueling national and local hosts, dueling marketing campaigns and promotions and dueling positions in the ratings.

Now they've got something else to compete with: proposed ballot initiatives.

KTTH-AM (770) morning host Mike Siegel has been working closely with Tim Eyman on Initiative 900, a proposal to give the state auditor the authority and funding to conduct what are known as performance audits of state and local government departments and agencies.

Over at KVI-AM (570), meanwhile, morning host Kirby Wilbur and afternoon host John Carlson helped jump-start, in Wilbur's phrase, the campaign for Initiative 912, which would repeal the Legislature's increase of the gasoline tax for highway and transit projects.
