Perhaps it is time to send Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer <ftn@cbsnews.com> an email - copied to Dick Meyer, the Editorial Director of CBS News (via the "Contact us" click at the CBS News web site) and perhaps to F.A.I.R.????
There are now eight documents from inside the British government, laying out a clear case that Bush had made up his mind, early in 2002, to invade Iraq -- no matter what Saddam Hussein did or didn't do, or what weapons Saddam Hussein had or didn't have. We also know from those eight documents -- generated in the highest levels of the British government -- that the Bushites had given little if ANY thought to the war's aftermath. High-level British government officials were concerned that after the removal of Saddam Hussein, Iraq could slide into a far worse situation, and that the Bushites seemed blithely unconcerned about the possibility both Iraq and the world could be worse off.
I doubt that Bob Schieffer has not read any of the Downing Street documents, so I must conclude his silence is because he is a Republican and because Bush made his brother an ambassador.
