For current Sirius subscribers.
I am beside myself with the programming Sirius has replaced AAR with, and I sent them the following email this morning.

Perhaps you might consider contacting them too? Thanks!

ideas@sirius-radio.com

Dear Sirs: Please do something soon to rectify the Liberal Left program line up. Subscribers who are die-hard AAR fans will only hold on so long, before they bail and cancel. The programming you replaced AAR with simply is sub-standard, specifically Lynn Samuals.

Perhaps we do not represent a large enough subscriber base, however I see your situation as a catch 22. You need to keep what you have as well as attracting new subscribers.

My word of mouth effort in behalf of Sirius in the summer of 2004 netted you new subscribers who were thrilled with AAR. I asked for Sirius stock for my birthday.

Bill Bradley is too wonderful for only once a week. Where is Mario Como's voice? Why can't someone like Paul Begala/James Carville/ et al, be on Sirius.

Perhaps a once each week different voice but during prime listening hours, for example each week day during Lynn Samuals slot have a different voice.

For example
Monday, Begala
Tuesday, Como
Wednesday, Bradley
Thursday, .....a Hispanic voice
Friday, .....a African American voice

Sirius needs to think "out side of the traditional format" and do something to revive its' revenue base. Sooner rather than later.

I have a Sirius in my car but no longer bring it into the house. When I am home, I stream AAR and I know many, many others do as well. You need folks like us to stay with your programing and your sponsors.

Sincerely,

1. Agreed
I have Sirius and Lyn Samuels suxs soooo bad.
How-in-thee-hell did she get a show? Talk about a tiny and select target audience. I cannot stand listening to that whiny voice.

3. Sirius hasn't replaced AAR with anything

The Sirius Left channel with Lynn Samuels that you're talking about is not a replacement for AAR. It had already been on Sirius, and was actually there before AAR. Hopefully Sirius will replace AAR with a new liberal talk channel so there will be 2 liberal talk channels again. I agree about Lynn Samuels. I can't listen to her. I'm not a fan of Ed Schultz, either, but I really like the Young Turks, and I think the overall programming on Sirius Left is just as good as AAR.

4. Yes, not a replacement
All that programming was on Sirius Left 143. They have just been broadcasting it on 144.

Lynn Samuels has been on ABC in NY for some time. I'm not a fan, but she does have experience. (but, oh, that voice!)

I'm getting the feeling that we will not see substitute programming and they will just have the one channel.

Thom Hartman and the Young Turks are the stars of that channel.

5. I can't listen to Lynn Samuels
I am trying to adjust to Sirius Left, but it's not working. I heard her yesterday for several minutes talking about adjusting her chair. A short while later, she spent some time talking about how the best memories of her childhood were going home from school at lunchtime, and how more women should stay at home. That's not liberal talk radio. How about a discussion of why most women have to work outside the home, or why it's OK for women to have a job and a family? Instead, she babbled and spewed RW talking points.
Sorry, Lynn. We have Rick Santorum's book for that crap.

Oh, and her voice makes my ears bleed.
