Tony Snow is out, Chris Wallace is in!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A21996-2003Oct26.html
"Fox News executives believed Tony Snow did a solid job in his seven years as a Sunday morning host, but that it was time for a change.

The leading candidate to replace him as host of "Fox News Sunday," network sources say, is Chris Wallace, and a deal could be finalized as early as this week. Landing the ABC correspondent, an aggressive journalist with no obvious political leanings, would be a coup for the "fair and balanced" network, which is widely viewed as catering to a conservative audience.
<snip>
Brit Hume, who sits on the Sunday panel, would be an obvious candidate, but Fox's Washington managing editor wants to concentrate on his own nightly cable show. "I'm not going to work eight days a week," Hume says. With a weekend show "you work Saturday, Sunday, you prepare for interviews and probably get involved in booking them."

Besides, says Hume, "I like occasionally to express an analytical opinion," which he can do as a panelist but not as host. "

Why would Wallace want to work there? :puke:
And Hume's comment is pretty funny.

1. I've found Chris to be reasonable
and absent of obvious bias. We'll see how long that lasts... Why would he want to take the job? Well, it is a promotion for him and undoubtedly $$$$$..... I just hope he maintains some integrity if he does jump ship. (acutally, I hope ABC counteroffers and keeps him)

2. Ailes may be thinking of "Out Foxing" the other cables who have now copied

his Faux format. As we've seen MSNBC & CNN go to the right, Ailes is crafty enough to notice the HUGE market on the Left which isn't being served.

Your post kind of goes along with some DU'ers who said last night they thought they were detecting a move toward the Left by Faux. I don't watch them, so I wouldn't know. But, if reports like this are true that they would bring in Chris Wallace, then something is up!

Ailes is a businessman, and a Supreme Programmer. He is also the one who allowed Geraldo to support Clinton in those dark days when there was no one who would give a voice to Conason and others at Salon who were trying to expose Mellon-Scaife and the witch hunt. As much as I dislike Ailes, he did that because he knew there was an audience a niche. Geraldo's ratings were so high he then gave him a short lived MSNBC News Events Show of his own with a female co-anchor, but when Bush came in, Geraldo turned Right went into the wilderness and then Ailes hired him again for Faux.

Yep, I think something is going on that could be very interesting!

3. It would be hilarious if Ailes discovered there was more money to be made
bashing Bush than whoring for him!

4. I was thinking along those lines myself last night.
With all those lefty books on the best sellers lists, he maybe feels the worm is turning and he wants to get in on the action.
