Is "Scott is saying nothing new ..." a brushoff?
I was thinking about this statement - "Scott McClellan isn't saying anything we didn't know already."

Actually, I think the statement should be along the lines of this: "Scott is confirming what we already knew and have been saying all along!"

1. You are stating a more accurate line of reasoning.

2. Yes, but a confirmation from an admin "insider" is much more
credible than a bunch of LWers who've been saying the same thing.

3. It is an admission of complicity
The media knew, and neither reported nor investigated. That makes them accessories to every crime the Junta comitted.

4. Yes, he is admitting, outwardly, what we could see in his face
as he was forced to lie to all of us. He knew how wrong his whitehouse prepared stance was and he let the words leave his mouth to deceive us.

It is a big step that is now publicly admitting that he allowed himself to be used. This act does not absolve him,and it certainly does not lessen the crimes of his superiors who instructed him. It does however confirms that the elephant in the room is not invisible to it's self.
