8. Probably no one is more disappointed than Ben Stein

He was obviously shooting for some major fireworks and some attention.
Ignoring him would be the worst punishment he could get. I suggest the
same treatment for McCain. Let him spend the rest of the fall season in
sausage houses and in staged events with small slices of the military.
That's about his speed.

When liberals compare things done by Bush and the One Party State Republicans of the Gingrich-Delay-Hastert era then that is prima facie evidence that we hate America - or so my television tells me. It's because we hate Nazi Germany and other fascist episodes of the 20th century so much that we can't get over it, apparently, and we don't see that some of the things that our country does which were also done by the Nazis are actually good things to do, as proved by the fact that Bush and the Republicans did them: aggressive wars, torture, subverting the fundamental law of the republic to eliminate partisan competition and create a one party state secured by a constant state of terror & war and allegations of a shadowy all-powerful enemy within that can only be thwarted by an open-ended grant of policestate powers, encompassing the destruction of traditional civil liberties. All good things to do in their season, my television says, and the fact that the Nazis did them too is happenstance.
