First, is old school. Through grass roots, on the ground organizing. The GOP has actually beat the Democrats at this game through the exploitation of Evangelical Christians and by focusing on moral issues, rather than the social justice passages of Christianity dealing with the poor. This year presents a unique opportunity, since the primaries showed that Obama does have a pretty good knack in terms of on the ground organization. Democrats should at least give, but even better, they should try to convince people on a one to one basis in a non-confrontational way to vote for Obama. This may ultimately prove more effective than a mass media ad.
Second, is the use of alternative media. The Paris Hilton video and the Obama girl videos showed that alternative media can drive the debate. It is risky, but with humor and cleverness, and some media skills, anyone could drive the debate for a newscycle. For example, a youtube with John McCain as Robert Palmer surrounding by an army of Cindy McCain, blonde lookalikes/GOP talking heads.
Third, is fight the good fight in the MSM. We may never win it, because the MSM is biased, but keep up the fight and keep up the pressure and attacks on McCain. Yes, you will be ignored for the most part, but Big Media is going to at least try to convince most Americans that they are impartial, so they will at least go through the motions of being fair, even as they spin the news against the Democrats.
