AP launches (wait for it) ... celebrity news service
Glad to see that everything important in the world is already being covered by the AP!

The Associated Press announced Thursday that it would be expanding its entertainment coverage with a multi-million dollar investment in a celebrity news service.

The new service, called "Celebrity Extra," will focus on A-list celebrities. A video version of the service launched Wednesday for global broadcast and video markets. A photo version will launch next month.

"Entertainment is a significant growth area -– particularly for visual images of the top stars," said AP Directior of Entertainment Dan Becker in a statement.
