they repeat the same things they hear on FOX. As for bias on both sides, when is the last time any network has given voice to far left the way FOX gives platforms to the far right? Did MSNBC (which despite having a small number of left-biased commentators is owned by a pretty conservative company - GE) bus people to the anti-war rallies the way FOX bused people to the 912 rallies? Does CNN tell people that Socialism is good and make anti-corporate rants 24/7?
Of course not. I'm sorry to tell you this, but anyone who believes that MSNBC or CNN are Leftist organizations has bought one of the bigger lies of Limbaugh and FOX, who used anti-media sentiment to create their own network, as well as to keep its viewers in the dark. You've seen studies which show that of all media watchers, regular FOX watchers tend to be woefully misinformed on many subjects from health care to the Iraq war, perhaps?
Public Television is also not Leftist. It's meant to be central and non-biased if anything, and I would say it largely is, sometimes showing bias both ways.
Hell, even organizations like the NY Times published pro-war and pro-Bush pieces. The media is corporate, won't buck their parent companies' or their advertisers' dollars/agendas, and are therefore anything but Leftist. GE, who owns the allegedly leftist MSNBC boycotted Air America and gives 2/3 of it's political contributions to the GOP. How the hell is that considered Liberal by any sense of the imagination.
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but I think you are misinformed.
Welcome to DU. I hope you stick around long enough to learn something. I'm not trying to be a dick, but this is a subject which pisses me off because it's so important. The media drives public opinion far more than you let on, as evidenced by the ramp up to the invasion of Iraq and many other issues, like the health care reform - despite the majority of Americans wanting massive reform, the media pushed the controversy and played it as if it's unpopular.
